Who We Are.

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” – Anatole France

Going Mutts is a local, family-owned pet sitting and dog walking company that offers Jefferson County pet owners a wide variety of pet services including dog walks, pet visits, medication administration, event and photoshoot escort, as well as pet transportation for most types of pets. We have 10 years of experience providing outstanding dog walking and pet sitting service for our wonderful animal friends and helping out their owners with all types of pet service needs.

Like many pet sitting services, Going Mutts was born from the desire to have loving, compassionate pet care for our own furry family members when we go on vacation.  We expect a high level of care for our own fur family; it is important to me, and my team, that your furry family members have the best, most comfortable care possible while you are away.

All kinds of pets are welcome with Going Mutts ~ big, small, young, elderly, hearing-impaired, vision-impaired, calm, energetic, mobility-impaired, you name it… they’re a part of your family and deserve the best care. We will go above and beyond for your pet to make sure they get everything they need. We can email, call, or text you with regular updates for any type of service. We don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach since every pet family is unique. We will happily answer any questions you have via email or phone. Just give us a call or text (720) 432-1547 or email us at info@goingmuttsco.com!

We are dedicated and reliable pet care professionals. We are bonded, insured, and trained in pet first aid and CPR. We don’t discriminate against any breed, age, or medical condition. We love, respect, and care for your pets as we do our own.

Our Team

Caitlin

Owner & Professional Pet Sitter

Ever since I was a little girl I have worked with animals. Growing up, my favorite pillow was our family Akita, Miko. I cared for my grandparents’ dog, Scamp, when they would go on global adventures. As a teenager, I pet sat my neighbors’ Wheaton Terrier and pet rat. Eventually, my family added cats to our household, along with new dogs as we said goodbye to our old companions.

As I got older, I considered a career in large animal veterinary medicine, which led me to work with our local vet clinic (Care Animal Hospital) and volunteer with the Rocky Mountain Horse Rescue three times a week. In college, I took a certificate in urban agriculture, which involved herding and milking goats, raising ducks and chickens, and learning about crop planting and health. I fostered dogs for Colorado Aussie Rescue, which led to my first foster failure, who, ironically, is a cat. In 2014, I began my journey towards being a full time pet sitter when I began part-time pet sitting through Dogvacay.com (now Rover.com). After losing my mom very unexpectedly in 2018, I decided it was time for a change. In 2019, I officially opened Going Mutts.

I am the happy “fur”-mom of four sweet creatures. I want my clients to know that when my pets can’t go with me to my destination, I feel exactly as my clients’ do when they have to leave their babies. That’s why I promise to always love and care for your pets the way you do!
